The #ReadyWhen campaign prepares arts venues, cultural organizations, and community gathering spaces to become vital assets in their communities’ disaster preparedness and response efforts.

Launched in September 2025 by Majestic Collaborations in collaboration with arts & emergency management partners, it synthesizes over nine years of work in the sector, proposing a new model for disaster planning that harnesses the skills of mass gatherings experts to dramatically improve community readiness.

The campaign includes assessment tools, training resources, partnership frameworks, factsheets, and advocacy materials—all designed to help organizations document their emergency response capabilities and connect productively with local emergency management systems, while advocating for the development of robust systems position community gathering organizations as essential infrastructure for disaster resilience.

For nine years, we’ve transformed festivals across the country into classrooms for disaster readiness through our Art of Mass Gatherings program. This resource portal is an extension of that work, made possible with the support of the Performing Arts Readiness Project and thanks to the feedback of emergency managers, disaster responders, arts and cultural organizations, and city and county officials nationwide.
